So here is the first redone:

I decided I wasn't crazy enough, so I decided to try to make this for my sisters as well.

My first Dear Jane block!

I received the book and within 24 hours just had to have one done. Very exciting.

Unfortunately I will need to make this one again since I made the background out of a fat quarter and cannot find it on a bolt. After I buy enough of another background, I will start again. What fun!

Description of the new quilt

The quilt looks like this:

While that does not look so hard, maybe... each of the square blocks are 5 inches unfinished. This means that when they are sewn together they will end up only 4 and 1/2 inches.

There are 169 squares this size in the quilt. There are 52 pieced triangles and 56 solid triangles in the quilt. There are 4 corner pieces to make as well.

In the beginning

I am totally psyched that my kids ordered me a Dear jane Book for Mother's day. I have not received it yet, which is good since I am finishing a few projects before we move in 2 weeks. I think my kids will think I am crazy once they see how small they are, but I really want to try!
